My journeys through calligraphy started as a teenager, with a beginner set that my parents gave me. I've wound through Byzantine, Mediæval and Renaissance calligraphy, including a short stint teaching Mediæval calligraphy some years ago.

I started studying Japanese calligraphy (書道; shodō "the art of writing") in the fall of 2005.
